EVENT: Ever since Alexander Payne unleashed his road-trip buddy movie
“Sideways” 4 years ago, Pinot Noir has sky-rocketed in popularity. Previously it was a
grape appreciated by geeky wine lovers. But that all changed with the release of the film.
Sales rose 45 percent over the first 12 months, and the rest is, shall we say, history.
Today Pinot Noir -- and its white wine cousin Pinot Gris -- are staples of wine lists
worldwide. They are hugely popular in America and still gaining new fans every day. So
we have decided to continue this trend on April 30th with an event we call "Pinot Envy", a
special wine tasting of the most delicious Pinot's on the market right now.
If Cabernet is the domain of the hedonist, then pinot is for the intellectual. Perhaps Miles
(the character in 'Sideways') put it best: "The flavors of Pinot are the most haunting and
brilliant and thrilling and subtle and ancient on the planet.” So join us on April 30th at
Bacchus Wines Made Simple in our beautiful renovated wine cellar. Great wine, tasty
hors d'oevres and live jazz. Only $40.
WINE: Our selections will be varied and from all over the world - the kinds of wines you
