EVENT: The Paris Wine Tasting of 1976 (AKA "The Judgment of Paris") was a wine
competition organized in Paris on May 24,1976 by Steven Spurrier, a British wine
merchant. French judges did blind tasting of top-quality Chardonnay and Cabernet
Sauvignon wines from France and from California. To everyone's surprise California wines
rated best in each category! This caused quite a stir, as France was generally regarded
as being the foremost producer of the world's best wines.
On May 28th we bring you our own take on the famous Paris Tasting at Bacchus.
"California vs. France", will be a special tasting of some of today's favorite
Californian and French wines. This time, YOU are the judges. WHICH DO YOU LIKE
BETTER?
As we do each month, we will also be serving up some tasty hors d'oeuvres and hearty
helping of LIVE JAZZ from the West Village Trio.
Join us for a really fun evening and a spirited confrontation between 2 great wine
producing regions. Only $40.
WINE: Our selections will be varied and from, of course, California and France. And
remember..."Some of the best wines are not necessarily expensive; you just have to
